Basic Contents provides full replacement or repair for furniture, furnishings, home appliances, sound equipment and televisions that are less than five years old and for computers less than three years old. It's a good option if you're renting or don't have a lot of possessions.

Other benefits include:

• All other furniture, furnishings, appliances and personal possessions are insured for current value or cost to repair.
• Up to $1,000,000 cover for legal liability related to loss or damage to anyone else's property in United States.
• A standard excess of $350 applies to each claim.

Discount opportunities and payment options:

• No claim discount of up to 40%.
• Discount for a professionally installed burglar alarm.
• Higher discounts may apply if you have a monitored burglar alarm.
• You can choose to pay fortnightly, monthly or annually by credit card or direct debit.
• You will qualify for a package discount if you also have home or motor vehicle insurance with us.
• Your package discount will be higher if you are over 55 years old.
